Step inside the studios and creative spaces of the makers we admire. The Charms Behind the Craft is a series spotlighting creatives around the world - not just what they create, but the jewels they wear while doing it. Hear from them in their own words about the craft they fell in love with, where they find their inspiration, and the story behind their stack.

Next up, meet @bridgetcampbell_ a pilates instructor based in Los Angeles.

01. Tell us about you

I’m Bridget, a newly certified Pilates instructor, New York native, and an LA girl for almost 3 years now. Movement has been such a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember, so getting to teach it now feels really surreal in the best way. I started instructing Pilates just 3 months ago, and it has genuinely been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It’s challenged me, pushed me out of my comfort zone, and brought so much purpose into my life. I’m also a Sagittarius through and through… I love freedom, change, growth, reinventing myself. all of it.

02. What made you start creating?

I’ve loved movement for as long as I can remember. It’s always been such a big part of my life. But, group fitness specifically became really meaningful when I first moved to LA. It gave me community during a time when everything felt so new, and it introduced me to some of my closest friends. It became so much more than just a workout for me. It was a space I looked forward to, a space that grounded me - that’s what made me want to teach. I wanted to give that feeling back. To create a space where people can move their bodies, meet people, feel safe, and just fully be themselves.

03. Where do you find inspiration?

Honestly, from my own life. From the challenges, the uncertainty, the growth, all of it. When I’m teaching or planning out a flow, I usually think about what I’m currently going through or what I’ve gone through before, and how I can speak to that in a way that might also resonate with someone else. I’ve realized so many of us are feeling the same things...uncertainty, fear, change, pressure - and sometimes we just need someone to remind us we’re not alone in it. If I can do that through movement, that means everything to me.

04. What makes the perfect Pilates flow?

Good music, really clear form cues, intentional movement… and, hot take, a 95-degree room dripping sweat.

05. How do your charms tell your story?

My charms feel very me. I’ve always been drawn to pieces that feel timeless and dainty but still personal. like a soft statement. Something balanced, calming, and meaningful that I’ll never get sick of. I love that each stone feels intentional, and having my birthstone in the centre just makes it feel even more special.

06. One piece of advice for someone wanting to start instructing?

Let go of what you think a Pilates instructor 'should' be. Truly. You do not have to be the loudest, strongest, or most intimidating person in the room. You just have to love movement, care about people, and be willing to work really hard. If you genuinely want to help people feel stronger and more connected to themselves, you can absolutely do this. Be yourself! that’s what people will connect with most.
